Jane Shroeder

With more than 40 years as an insurance advisor at Lenox Advisors and service on the Agents Advisory Board at MassMutual, Jane Schroeder has dedicated her career to helping others plan for the future. She brings that same passion to philanthropy, believing that nonprofit organizations have the power to transform lives.

For Jane, having access to world-class healthcare close to home provides peace of mind when it matters most. It's one of the many reasons she is proud to support Adventist Health Glendale and its mission to deliver exceptional care to the community.

“I have lived in La Canada since I was 12 years old. In the last few years, I have been exposed more to Adventist Health Glendale than in the past. I have been so impressed with their level of care and the quality of the nurses and doctors. Recently, a family member was hospitalized at Adventist Health Glendale. I cannot begin to tell you, in the midst of uncertainty and health worries, we were so blown away by the people who worked there, from the woman who worked in housekeeping to the nurses and the amazing doctors. Their kindness mattered, and their expertise gave us tremendous comfort during a challenging time. This place is amazing, and I am proud to be on the foundation board. My personal goal is to help get the word out about all that is going on here. I want all the surrounding cities to know that this is the place they need to go to in the event they have a sickness or an injury. It is a special place, and it is a great honor to be part of this board.

“Access to amazing healthcare is so important. However, it is also really important to have the same quality of care, and it is located so close to our home. Diane Doolin first introduced me to AH Glendale, and then she introduced me to Elizabeth LaBorde, President of the Foundation. Elizabeth has the ability to find someone’s strengths and talents and nurture them. Her vision makes you want to be part of something bigger than yourself, and she leads with action. I have learned so much from her already!

“I love living in La Canada, it is such a wonderful place. Just going out for an ordinary walk, you end up seeing so many people who are friends. Living in the community is something that I treasure dearly. My number one hobby is travel – I love stepping back from my life to experience a new place and cultures. In particular, experiencing things with my husband, our children and grandchildren, our entire family and with friends — making memories that will last forever! Spending time and making memories with my family and friends fills my heart with joy and happiness.”

We are honored to welcome Jane to the Adventist Health Glendale Foundation Board of Directors. Her commitment to philanthropy and belief in the importance of exceptional healthcare close to home will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission and serve our community.

Marion Fong

Marion Fong has over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, currently CEO/CFO of the Woodbridge Wind-Down Entity and the founder/principal of Mariposa Real Estate Advisors. She actively supports community organizations including having served on the board of the USC Stanley Ross Minority Program in Real Estate, the So Cal Academy youth soccer club, and the Chandler School Alumni Council. As a graduate of Occidental College and San Marino resident, Marion is a longtime community member, raising her family and living within six miles from Adventist Health Glendale for the past 40 years. Marion shares her perspective on the necessity of supporting quality healthcare.

“To be honest, I only recently learned about Adventist Health Glendale’s excellence, from fellow board member, Corinne Verdery. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with the Foundation Board to help spread the word about the best kept secret in healthcare. We are fortunate that in the Pasadena/Glendale area, we have access to so many great healthcare institutions. Fortunately, I have not had the need to experience the hospital, but it is reassuring that a top-tier regional hospital like Adventist Health Glendale that is recognized for patient safety and surgical excellence is right here, should my family need the care.

“Access to healthcare, especially quality healthcare, is something we take for granted and don’t think much about until we need it. And when we need it, we expect immediate access and uncompromising quality. The hard work of building the foundation for that access and quality falls on the unwavering commitment of our healthcare professionals and an entire army of supporting cast members. That hard work has to be there every day so that we can assure access and quality for when each of our community members needs care.

“I have appreciated attending the Foundation’s Lunch & Learn series and the opportunity to learn from the incredible physician specialists at our hospital. Knowing that Adventist Health Glendale is the first certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in Southern California and having the neurological expertise available when time is of the essence, is particularly comforting.

“Living in our community means access to excellence, and one of the favorite things I love about where we live, is eating out with friends and enjoying meals from all over the world within a short drive of our homes. We are blessed!”

We are incredibly grateful to welcome Marion to the Adventist Health Glendale Foundation Board of Directors. Her wealth of experience, thoughtful leadership, and commitment to strengthening organizations will help guide our mission as we continue improving the health and well-being of our community.
