Men’s Health Concerns That Have Permanent Solutions
Aug 24, 2026
Many men notice changes in their health as they get older, including erectile dysfunction, lower energy, urinary symptoms, hormone changes, or concerns about confidence and well-being. These concerns can feel personal, but they are common and often treatable.
At Adventist Health Urology in Lodi, our team helps patients talk through symptoms, understand what may be causing them, and find treatment options that fit their health, lifestyle and goals. Men’s health concerns may be linked to heart disease, diabetes, medications, stress, anxiety, depression, hormone changes, or other underlying conditions. A simple conversation with a provider can help identify the cause and determine the best next step.
Finding the right treatment
During a visit, your provider may review your health history, discuss your symptoms, complete an exam, and recommend testing. Because issues like erectile dysfunction, low testosterone and urinary changes can have different causes, this helps your care team recommend treatment that makes sense for you.
Treatment may include lifestyle changes, medications, counseling, testosterone replacement therapy when medically appropriate, or other options recommended by your provider. For erectile dysfunction, care may also include oral medicines, injections, vacuum devices or, when other treatments are not the right fit, a penile implant.
Understanding penile implants
A penile implant is a long-term treatment option for men who have not had success with other ED treatments or want a dependable solution. The device is placed completely inside the body and is designed to help create an erection firm enough for intimacy when desired.
There are two main types of penile implants. A malleable implant uses bendable rods that can be positioned when needed. An inflatable implant uses cylinders, a pump and a reservoir to create and release an erection. While an implant does not increase sexual desire or change sensation, it may help restore confidence, improve intimacy, and reduce frustration when other ED treatments are not the right fit.
When to seek care
There is no reason to feel embarrassed about asking for help. Dr. Khourdaji has helped hundreds of men explore treatment options for intimate concerns. A short visit can allow you to ask questions about your sexual health, side effects from medicines, or symptoms that are a concern.
Seek care right away for severe pain, trouble urinating, chest pain, fast or uneven heartbeats after taking ED medicines, or an erection lasting longer than four hours. If symptoms may be an emergency, call 911.
