Adventist Health Tillamook Encourages Community to Nominate Exceptional Nurses for DAISY Award
Adventist Health Tillamook calls on community members to recognize the incredible nurses who provide compassionate, patient-centered care by nominating them for the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This award celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in clinical expertise, compassion and dedication to their patients and families.
The DAISY Award, an internationally recognized honor, highlights stories of extraordinary care. Recent honorees from Adventist Health Tillamook have included Wren Walker, RN, whose kindness, energy and calm demeanor made a significant difference in the lives of patients and families. Her peers shared moving examples of her ability to connect with patients during critical moments while providing comfort and care to a nervous patient while discussing their family heritage. Rich Brainard, RN, another recent DAISY honoree, was recognized for his dedication to patient advocacy and mentorship. His colleagues described him as an “amazing nurse” who always goes the extra mile, ensuring patients feel safe and supported, even in the busiest Emergency Department moments.
The DAISY Award is an opportunity for patients, families and colleagues to share the stories of nurses who inspire them. Nominations are accepted year-round and can be submitted through Adventist Health Tillamook’s website or in person at any Adventist Health Tillamook location. Eric Swanson, President of Adventist Health Tillamook, emphasizes the importance of honoring nurses: “Each DAISY Award nomination tells a story of care and compassion that defines the heart of nursing. We are honored to celebrate our nurses and their dedication to our mission of inspiring health, wholeness, and hope.”
