Nov 13, 2024
Adventist Health Mendocino Coast is proud to announce that it has achieved Blue Zones Project (BZP) Worksite Approval Status, making it the first hospital in Mendocino County to receive this esteemed recognition. To commemorate this significant milestone, team members and community members gathered in the Garden Courtyard for a festive celebration, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and delicious offerings from Noyo Harbor Inn, a Blue Zones-approved restaurant.
This certification reflects the hospital’s commitment to promoting health and well-being through a variety of community-driven initiatives. Some of these initiatives include Walking Moai groups to encourage regular walking, weekly yoga sessions in the Wellness Garden, and the introduction of vegan options at every meal served at the Sea Glass Café inside Adventist Health Mendocino Coast. Additionally, there are numerous volunteer opportunities that further support the health of the organization’s team members and the community.
The certification process was rigorous, with Adventist Health Mendocino Coast achieving an impressive score of 92 points, surpassing the required threshold by 14 points.
