Jason Wells, President

Jason Wells serves as the President of Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley and Adventist Health Howard Memorial. Jason’s role is to serve as the senior executive at Adventist Health working with our healthcare and community partner in Mendocino County. Jason has served as president of Adventist Health Howard memorial since March 2017. Previous to this role, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Physician Enterprise and Vice President at Park Ridge Health in North Carolina, one of Adventist Health System's 46 community medical centers in the U.S.

Prior to his role at Park Ridge Health, Jason served at Florida Hospital in Orlando as Director of the Experience Network and collaborated with the Disney I.D.E.A.S. team seeking to create the ultimate patient experience for patients and guests.

Jason is a graduate of Walla Walla College and has earned a MBA from Benedictine University. He is a certified medical practice executive and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Judy Leach, Administrator

Judy LeachJudy Leach serves as the administrator for Adventist Health Mendocino Coast. Judy has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, including nearly 15 years with Adventist Health.

Judy most recently served as communications executive for the organization’s 22 hospitals and hundreds of clinics. Prior to that role, Leach led strategy execution for Adventist Health’s urban and rural hospitals and clinics in Oregon, Washington and Hawaii while serving as vice president for strategic planning and communications.

An avid lifelong learner, she holds a master’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific University. She and her young adult children call the Mendocino Coast home.

Linda Givens, Patient Care Executive

Lindsey Spencer joined Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, Adventist Health As the patient care executive for Adventist Health in Mendocino County, Linda oversees quality initiatives, all nursing practices, infection control, pharmacy and anesthesia, for all three hospitals.

Linda comes to us from Walla Walla Washington, where she served as the chief nursing officer for Adventist Health Walla Walla General Hospital. Linda has many years of experience in nursing and nursing administration, beginning on the Medical/Surgical Unit at Walla Walla General Hospital in 1981. She transitioned into the Intensive Care Unit in1981 before shifting into a new role in the Emergency Center in 1984. Givens advanced into Coordinator of the Emergency Center in 1998, and just a few years later also held oversight on the Intensive Care Unit. When the Chest Pain Center opened on the medical campus in 2014, the Cardiac Cath Lab team was also brought under purview.

Givens holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington State University and a Masters in Nursing from University of Phoenix. She is passionate about critical care, population health and shared nursing governance.

Lindsey Spencer, Patient Care Executive

Lindsey Spencer joined Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in 2018 as the Patient Care Executive. In her role, Lindsey provides leadership and oversight of hospital clinical performance and quality of care.

Before taking her role as Patient Care Executive, Lindsey served as Nursing Administrative Director for the Emergency and Medical Imaging Departments, where she was responsible for managing the opening of the Emergency Department as well as development layout, workflow and operations for the new walk-in clinic opening in late 2018.

In the past several years, Lindsey has served in Adventist Health hospitals as director of Emergency Department at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, Director of Acute Services at Howard Memorial, and Director of Med-Surg, ICU, and Respiratory Therapy also at AHUV.

Lindsey earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Walla Walla University in Washington state and master’s in nursing sciences from The University of Phoenix. Lindsey has also gone on to complete an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.

Judson Howe, Financial Officer

Judson HoweJudson Howe, CPA oversees finance, accounting and the budgeting process for Adventist Health Mendocino Coast, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley and Adventist Health Howard Memorial.

Prior to this, Howe directed the finances of the hospital in his role as regional director for Adventist Health in Mendocino County, where he oversaw finance and accounting. Before moving to Mendocino County in 2003, Judson served as director of business intelligence at Adventist Health Glendale.

His specialty has been focused on empowering employees to make more informed process improvement decisions by providing them with key insights and data to help them perform their jobs better.

Judson is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting from California State University - San Bernardino.

Bessant Parker, Medical Officer

Bessant ParkerAs our Medical Officer in Mendocino County, Dr. Bessant Parker oversees care delivery at our Adventist Health hospitals and 21 clinics in the county. Dr. Parker works with staff and providers to continuously improve the quality and experience of care for our patients.

Dr. Parker comes to us from Wisconsin, where he recently served as Chief Medical Officer for Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He completed his medical training in Ghana before coming to the United States where he did his residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University in New York.

Upon completion of his residency he served as a hospitalist at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. He went on to complete a full-time master's degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, while maintaining part-time employment at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Dr. Parker also trained with Tenet Healthcare in the Tenet Executive Development Program at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts where he served on the executive management team and was involved in leading quality and process improvement efforts.
