Adventist Health Hanford Acquires IQool Technology for Temperature Management
May 10, 2024
Adventist Health Hanford has recently acquired the IQoolTM temperature management system, an innovative technology that delivers hypothermia treatment for patients when clinically indicated. The IQool™ System employs targeted temperature management (TTM) to monitor and automatically maintain patients' body temperature at 32°C to 39°C.
TTM is used to maintain fever control and manage patient temperature in critical care settings, such as the intensive care unit (ICU). The IQoolTM System works to rapidly cool the body while automatically adjusting to maintain optimal body temperature. Rather than using whole-body hypothermia, which can be inefficient, the system offers three separate zones of treatment for the areas of the body that produce the most heat: torso, thigh and optional head/neck. The IQoolTM pads are non-adhesive, allowing for quick and easy skin checks, and can be wiped clean for easy maintenance.
In addition to the benefits provided to patients, the IQoolTM System provides caregivers with an intuitive interface and helpful graphics. Case data for each patient can also be downloaded for review.
“We’re proud to be able to be among the first to bring this advanced technology to the residents of Hanford and our surrounding communities,” said Ghassan Jamaleddine, MD, medical officer, Adventist Health Central California Network. “Now, patients don’t have to travel or be transferred out of the area to get the care they need. It underscores our commitment to provide cutting-edge treatments and the best possible care to our patients.”
