For Investigators and Sponsors

Clinical trials next steps

The Clinical Research Department at Adventist Health St. Helena is here to help investigators and sponsors conduct or locate trials for your patient population.

Information for investigators

The Clinical Research Department is here to help you conduct or locate trials for your patient population. The research staff will work with and on your behalf to get signed up with the clinical trial sponsor. The Institutional Review Board (IRB), a group of physicians, nurses, hospital staff and scientific and community members tasked with protecting human research participants, reviews the research for institutional approval.

Requirements for investigators

Federal Drug Administration regulations require that sponsors choose investigators qualified by training and experience. Additionally, FDA regulations require that investigators commit themselves to personally conduct or supervise the investigation.
