At Adventist Health, we know that disorders of the spine, brain, and blood vessels — such as stroke — can have devastating effects on people’s lives and families. That’s why we’re committed to providing compassionate and expedient care and advanced treatment options — to ensure you have access to life-saving care when it matters most.

Depend on our expert team in a stroke emergency

At Adventist Health, we’re no strangers to rapid evaluation and treatment for complex conditions. And when it comes to stroke, you need to act fast. Receiving immediate treatment for stroke and stroke-like symptoms significantly increases your chances for recovery and survival. Our teams provide care for stroke conditions including:

  • Aneurysm treatment/subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • Carotid stenosis
  • Cerebral hemorrhage
  • Intracranial artery disease
  • Ischemic stroke and clot removal (thrombectomy)
  • Transient ischemic attack (TIA, or “mini stroke”)
  • Subdural hematoma and artery embolization

Our approach to stroke treatment

Our team uses advanced, minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat stroke and other neurological conditions with precision and care. From procedure to recovery, you’ll be supported by a coordinated team focused on delivering safe, personalized treatment, and the best possible outcomes.

Your procedure

These procedures are performed using thin, flexible instruments guided through the vascular system with the help of advanced imaging technology. This approach enables targeted treatment while minimizing the need for traditional surgery.

Your care team

Your stroke care team will work together to provide safe, coordinated, and personalized care and may include:

  • Anesthesiologists
  • Doctors
  • Neurosurgeons
  • Nurses
  • Radiology technologists
  • Stroke or neuroscience coordinators

Whether you are in the hospital or seen in an outpatient clinic, our specialists will communicate closely with your healthcare providers and your family.

What to expect

While in our care, you will receive tests to determine the type and severity of your condition to guide the best course of treatment, which might include medication, surgery, or neurointerventional/endovascular procedures.

Should you require an interventional procedure, our team is highly skilled at performing the latest procedures, including minimally invasive ones, to ensure the best outcomes.

Know the warning signs

Time is critical during a stroke. The sooner you seek treatment, the better chance you have of reducing lasting effects. Use the acronym BE FAST to remember the following warning signs:

B = Balance issues

E = Eyes blur/vision changes

F = Face drooping

A = Arm/leg weakness

S = Speech difficulty (understanding or speaking)

T = Time to call 911

Should you experience these symptoms, call 911 to be taken to the nearest emergency room.
