Care Beyond the Bedside
One of the most rewarding parts of being at Adventist Health Central Coast is seeing how our teams consistently support one another and the patients and families we serve.
Through the Adventist Health Central Coast Foundation, Associate Giving helps strengthen care close to home and directs support to the programs and areas employees care about most.
Cee Cee, a nurse at Adventist Health Sierra Vista, recently made a gift to the NICU Fund. Every day, she cares for some of our smallest and most vulnerable patients, bringing compassion, skill, and dedication to families during critical moments. Her decision to give reflects that same commitment beyond the bedside.
Cee Cee shared:
“I contributed to the Foundation because I care deeply about supporting the unit I’m so proud to be part of. Whether it eases our patients’ experience, makes their stay more comfortable or empowers my peers through education, each part plays an important role. This work is filled with tremendous purpose and humanity.
“My late mother and stepfather were both passionate educators and dedicated parents, and I carry their legacy with me in the work I was always meant to do and in the family I’m so fortunate to have. My mother didn’t live long enough to see me return to school and step into this career I love.
“I often think about how additional support might have eased my parents’ burdens and allowed them to show up even more fully as parents. It is part of what inspires me to give, so that others, whether patients or team members, feel supported in the moments they need it most.
“I walk this journey daily in honor of my parents and all the parents who come through our unit. I hope my gifts bring even a little comfort, support, or opportunity to another parent, whether a patient or a valued colleague.
“Supporting one another strengthens both the care we provide and the community we love, and that is something I deeply cherish.”
