Medical Imaging in Tulare

Adventist Health Tulare is currently offering high-quality imaging services in every department. These services, combined with licensed and experienced technologists and sonographers, ensure that patients receive excellent care and accurate diagnostic images.

This year, we have begun investing in state-of-the art imaging equipment that will provide sharp, digital images for MRI and CT, as well as 3D technology for our upcoming mammography system. We have already added two top-of-the-line DR ultrasound units and two new DR x-ray portable units. These units increase the comfort of the patient by bringing the equipment to the patient at bedside.

Computed tomography (CT)

Our 16-slice CT scanner means we can complete your entire exam during one breath hold. Less time means fewer errors for your images and greater comfort for you while producing a higher-resolution scan.

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sounds waves and a computer to view internal organs as they function. Ultrasound can also be used to assess blood flow.

Our brand new, digital ultrasound systems bring extraordinary performance and color imaging to generate the highest quality studies. These images are used for many clinical needs, from checking on fetal growth to looking for organ abnormalities like gallstones.

Ultrasounds are used to view internal organs as they function and to assess blood flow through various vessels by using high-frequency sounds waves and a computer.

Our fluoroscopy system combines traditional x-ray technology with live images so that we can perform video swallow and upper GI studies, as well as produce diagnostic images of the large and small intestines.

Our MRI scanning system produces high-quality images that reveal the finest details of your internal organs and tissues. Our MRI images give you and your physician the information you need to get an accurate diagnosis and make a plan for treatment.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine uses very small amounts of reactive tracers that act as a dye to diagnose and treat disease. It is unique because it creates images of both structures and functions in your body. This information would otherwise be unavailable or require surgery.

Nuclear medicine imaging often identifies problems very early in the progress of a disease, long before many medical problems are apparent with other diagnostic tests. Often this early detection means better outcomes during treatment.

3D digital mammography

State-of-the-art, 3D digital mammography equipment is part of a major overhaul to our imaging department and will arrive soon. Please check this site for more information as it becomes available.

Our two x-ray suites produce high-quality images that show internal tissues bones and organs for diagnostic purposes.

In addition, our brand new, state-of-the-art portable x-ray systems produce digital images on the screen for immediate diagnosis in the patient’s room or in the Emergency Department.
