Imaging services offered in Hanford

The latest technological equipment for diagnostic purposes is available through the imaging departments at Adventist Health Hanford, the Breast Care Center, and the lab and imaging center at the Hanford Medical Pavilion. Compassionate, state-of-the-art care is the goal of our imaging physicians, technologists and staff.

Computed tomography (CT)

Our GE 16-slice CT scanner means we can complete your entire exam during one breath hold. Less time means fewer errors for your images and greater comfort for you while you still get a higher-resolution scan.

PET/CT

PET, or positron emission tomography, uses radiation or nuclear imaging to produce 3-D color images to show how things are working inside your body. PET often can help find disease before it shows up on other tests. This technology can also show the progress of a disease as well as your body's response to treatment. It is often used to diagnose cancer and to check how well your cancer treatment is working. PET scans can also check for coronary artery disease and myocardial viability.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sounds waves and a computer to view internal organs as they function. Ultrasound can also be used to assess blood flow.

Our Toshiba diagnostic ultrasound system brings extraordinary performance and color imaging to generate higher-quality images. These images are used for many clinical needs, from checking on fetal growth to looking for organ abnormalities like gallstones.

Ultrasounds are used to view internal organs as they function and to assess blood flow through various vessels by using high-frequency sounds waves and a computer.

Fluoroscopy system

Our GE fluoroscopy system combines traditional X-ray technology with a digital process that reduces your exposure to radiation. Our equipment means faster exams that result in state-of-the-art detailed images with greater diagnostic confidence.

MRI

Our MRI scanning system produces high-quality images that reveal the finest details of your internal organs and tissues. You’ll appreciate our machine’s larger opening and enjoy a peaceful island scene on the ceiling. Our high-resolution MRI images give you and your physician the information you need to get an accurate diagnosis and make a plan for treatment.

Nuclear medicine

Nuclear medicine uses very small amounts of reactive tracers — which act as a dye — to diagnose and treat disease. It is unique because it creates images about both structures and functions in your body. This information would otherwise be unavailable or require surgery.

Nuclear medicine imaging often identifies problems very early in the progress of a disease, long before many medical problems are apparent with other diagnostic tests. Often this early detection means better outcomes during treatment.

3D Digital mammography

Our Hologic Selenia full-field digital mammography unit provides superior imaging and efficiency to make you as comfortable as possible. New technologies help us to detect cancers earlier than ever before. Our digital mammography unit is the gold standard series in screen-film mammography. We now offer online scheduling for mammograms at our Breast Care Center at 125 Mall Drive, Suite 203. Referrals are not required. Click here to schedule your appointment online.

X-ray

X-rays use electromagnetic energy to produce images of internal tissues, bones and organs on film for diagnostic purposes.
