Wound Care Center Earns Three National Awards
Apr 24, 2026
The Wound Care Center at Adventist Health Bakersfield earned three national recognitions from Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The awards include:
- Robert A. Warriner III, MD, Clinical Excellence Award
- Center of Distinction Award
- President’s Circle Award
These honors reflect the Wound Care Center’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and achieving exceptional clinical outcomes.
Clinical Excellence Award
The Clinical Excellence Award places the center among the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics Wound Care Centers® nationwide, based on comprehensive healing rates weighted by wound complexity. Named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care, this prestigious recognition highlights superior clinical performance.
Center of Distinction Award
The Center of Distinction Award recognizes centers that demonstrate outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate exceeding 92 percent.
Presidents' Circle Award
The President’s Circle Award, Healogics’ highest honor, is awarded to a select group of centers that demonstrate exceptional performance in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and operational excellence — demonstrating a continued commitment to patient-centered healing.
“Earning all three of these awards is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the compassion, expertise, and dedication our providers, clinicians, and leaders bring to every patient we serve,” said Jason Wells, president, Adventist Health Central California Network.
The Adventist Health Bakersfield Wound Care Center is part of the Healogics network of nearly 600 Wound Care Centers® nationwide and provides specialized wound care for patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds.
Advanced wound care treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. The Adventist Health Bakersfield Wound Care Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that helps accelerate healing by increasing oxygen delivery to damaged tissue.
The Wound Care Center in Bakersfield, which is equipped with two hyperbaric chambers, serves all of Kern County. In 2025, the team performed more than 1,000 hyperbaric sessions and cared for more than 400 new patients.
“These awards speak to the consistency and collaboration of our entire care team,” said Erik Subia, director, Wound Care Program at Adventist Health Bakersfield. “Every day, we focus on delivering evidence-based care while treating each patient with dignity and compassion. It’s incredibly meaningful to see that commitment translate into improved healing outcomes and experiences.”
