Hydrostor Donation to Fund Stroke Imaging Technology

A generous donation from Hydrostor is helping strengthen stroke care at Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, ensuring community members have access to advanced diagnostic technology close to home.

During a special check presentation ceremony on September 22, 2026, Hydrostor presented a $110,000 gift that will fund the purchase of CT brain perfusion software for the hospital's imaging and radiology departments. The technology will help physicians quickly assess patients experiencing stroke-related symptoms so they can make faster and more informed treatment decisions when every minute counts.

Advancing stroke care when time matters most

When it comes to stroke care, rapid diagnosis can make a life-changing difference. The addition of CT brain perfusion technology will provide clinicians with detailed imaging that helps identify areas of the brain that may still be saved with treatment. This information can guide time-sensitive care decisions and improve access to specialized stroke diagnostics for residents throughout Tehachapi Valley and eastern Kern County.

By bringing this advanced capability to the hospital, patients who are experiencing stroke symptoms can receive critical evaluation closer to home, reducing delays in care and helping providers respond quickly during medical emergencies.

A partnership focused on community well-being

For Adventist Health, the donation reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the health and well-being of the communities both organizations serve.

"Adventist Health is deeply grateful to Hydrostor for such a generous gift and, even more, for the spirit of partnership it represents," said Jason Wells, president of Adventist Health Central California Network. "Hydrostor has built its reputation by imagining what's possible and turning innovation into impact, which are values we share at Adventist Health. Together, we are demonstrating what can happen when two organizations committed to innovation come together to strengthen communities and create a healthier, more sustainable future."

The gift also highlights Hydrostor's ongoing investment in eastern Kern County as the company advances its Willow Rock Energy Storage Center, a long-duration energy storage project that will contribute to regional infrastructure, economic development, and energy reliability.

Investing in the future of Tehachapi Valley

Leaders from Hydrostor say supporting local healthcare is a natural extension of the company's commitment to the region and the people who call it home.

"East Kern County has been endlessly supportive of Hydrostor and our Willow Rock project, and we're proud to be able to support the community in return with software upgrades for Adventist Health's imaging and radiology departments," said Curt Hildebrand, senior vice president of Commercial Affairs at Hydrostor. "The upgrades will ensure patients across East Kern receive faster, more accurate diagnoses when every minute counts."

As Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley continues expanding access to advanced healthcare services, partnerships like this one help ensure patients can receive high-quality, lifesaving care close to home. With the addition of CT brain perfusion technology, the hospital is further strengthening its ability to provide timely stroke assessments and support better outcomes for the communities it serves.
