Patient Praises Care on Hanford Birth Center Anniversary
Mar 25, 2026
Since March 2016, the Birth Center team at Adventist Health Hanford has helped welcome more than 23,400 babies into the world. On its 10th anniversary, Tasvia “Taz” Mohamed reflects on the compassionate care she received during the deliveries of both her children who are now ages 8 and 6.
“When I delivered my son, Abdul, I was so scared because he was my first baby, but the nurses were so sweet and one of them, nurse Heather, held my hand the entire time,” says Mohamed. “After delivering my son, Heather asked me what flavor of ice cream I wanted. I was so excited to get ice cream and even more excited when she brought me all the different flavors they had.”
Two years after delivering her son, Mohamed delivered her daughter, Aminah, and received the same compassionate care as her first delivery.
“The nurses are amazing. If you have questions, they encourage you to ask them without feeling embarrassed,” says Mohamed. “I’m always recommending the Birth Center to my friends and family.”
As a Hanford resident and an aspiring business owner, Mohamed teaches her children about the importance of giving back to their community. Recently, on Valentine’s Day, she baked 30 cakes for the Birth Center team and brought her children with her to help deliver them.
“I constantly tell my children about the wonderful nurses at the Birth Center and how well they took care of us,” says Mohamed. "If I have another baby, I’m going to deliver at the Birth Center.”
