Wes Rippy, M.D., Named CMO for Adventist Medical Center

Wes Rippey, M.D., has been appointed CMO for Adventist Medical Center, according to Deryl Jones, president and CEO of the Portland-based facility. Dr. Rippey joins the administrative team on a part-time basis to work with hospital and physician leaders in facilitating continuous process improvement, enhancing electronic medical records, evaluating clinical outcomes and disseminating best practices. He also will counsel and support key physician committees. Rippey will act as the primary clinician liaison between the board, administration, medical staff and the community.

“We are pleased that Dr. Rippey is joining our administrative team,” said Jones. “He brings with him a wealth of experience in physician leadership. This newly-created role of CMO emphasizes our continued commitment to quality patient care.”

Dr. Rippey has been an active member of the AMC Medical Staff since 1981. In addition to his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Rippey has previously served as president of the Medical Staff. He continues to devote the majority of his time to his private practice as a general surgeon and is a member of the Portland Surgical Society, Oregon Medical Association and Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland.

Dr. Rippey received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California, where he also completed a residency in general surgery.
