OB/GYN Residency Conferences at White Memorial Medical Center
Conferences are held every Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
All residents excluding those away on rotations are expected to attend
conference; Wednesday conference is designated resident education protected time.
Conference Schedule
8:00 a.m.: Grand Rounds - special topics presented by guest speakers, medical staff, faculty, and residents
9:00 a.m.: OB Morbidity and Mortality - short presentations, weekly review,
and Fetal Monitor Strip Review
9:45 a.m.: GYN Morbidity and Mortality - short presentations and weekly review
10:45 a.m.: Basic Science - subspecialty coverage between Lecturer and
Journal Club
11:30 a.m.: Pathology Conference
Medical Meetings
Each of the senior residents has the option to attend one major meeting of the specialty which can be remote from Los Angeles. The meetings from which they can choose are:
- American College of Obstetrics & Gynecologists Annual Clinical Meeting
- North American Society for Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology
- American Society for Reproductive Medicine
- American Urogynecologic Society
- Society of Perinatal Obstetrician
- Gynecologic Oncology Group
CREOG Exam
Each year, an examination under the auspices of the Council of Resident Education in OB/GYN (CREOG) is given to all residents. The individual resident may discover areas of strengths and weaknesses in his/her training and areas that may need more study and development. In addition, the results of this examination will reflect the outside reading and study of each resident.
Junior Fellow in ACOG
All residents are encouraged to become junior fellows in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) during their residency training program. Membership dues are paid for by the residency program.
