340B Prescription Drug Program
The 340B Prescription Drug Program supports our role as a safety-net provider in offering vital healthcare services in the communities we serve. The program is only for hospitals that provide a high level of services to low-income individuals or serve isolated rural communities. In 2017, Adventist Health White Memorial provided:

White Memorial Medical Center is a nonprofit teaching hospital that operates 353 beds and provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient, emergency and diagnostic services to the communities in East Los Angeles. Nearly 30 percent of the population we serve live in poverty.
The 340B program has allowed us to develop programs for those who cannot afford prescriptions. Some of these programs are:
- Financial assistance for patients who can’t afford prescriptions
- Providing discharge prescriptions
- Medication, supplies and transportation assistance for medically indigent and homeless patients
- Providing transportation to those in need to appointments, health education classes and support groups
