RN Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in our Adventist Health RN New Graduate Residency program. We offer four cohorts each year. The Medical/Surgical unit is the primary placement for new graduate nurses, however; opportunities in specialty units may be available.

How long is the program?
The AH RN Residency is 24 months long with four specific phases:
- Clinical skills
- Critical thinking
- Team building
- Leadership development
What does the program consist of?
Competency based orientation
The program is highly supportive and includes:
- Sequential learning experiences
- Structured computer-based learning
- Case studies with clinical experiences
- Hands-on technical skill development
90% bedside training
10% instructive
Each Resident will work their scheduled three, 12 hour shifts per week. Mandatory core class sessions are required.
Do participants get paid while they are in the program? All nurses are hired into a specific department. Wages are based on nursing career ladder.
Do I get benefits? As a full-time employees, residents are eligible for benefits.
Can I have prior experience as a RN? No.
Does your organization offer sponsorships? Not at this time.
Is tuition reimbursement available? Adventist Health Ukiah Valley offers tuition reimbursement for continuing education after one year of full-time employment.
