Kristin VieiraKristin Vieira, ATC, CSCS, MREMT

Kristin Vieira originally wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine but after suffering a knee injury while in high school, Kristin found working with an athletic trainer tremendously important to her recovery. As a result, she chose to pursue athletic training as her major in college.

Kristin earned her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Athletic Training from CSU Hayward and completed an internship in athletic training at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. She has additional training as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is also a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).

Kristin moved to Calaveras County in 2002 and worked as a physical therapy aide at Sonora Regional Medical Center from 2002 until 2005. Kristin then worked as head athletic trainer at Bret Harte High School from 2005 until 2012.

“Athletic training allows me to practice a unique type of medicine and stay connected to athletes in a meaningful way,” explains Kristin. “Helping athletes return to the playing field and reach their goals is extremely rewarding.”

Away from work Kristin enjoys lots of outdoor activities including surfing, wakeboarding, swimming, hiking and backpacking. She recently took up distance running and is currently training for her first half marathon. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and two chocolate labs.
