COVID-19 Vaccinations

Thank you to our many community and clinical volunteers who have given their time to make our community vaccination clinics possible and allowed Adventist Health Sonora to administer over 10,600 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for Tuolumne County residents, healthcare workers, and long-term care residents.

There are multiple sites offering first dose vaccinations for Tuolumne County residents age 16 and older. Please go to the Tuolumne County Public Health Department website for information.

Tuolumne County is transitioning to MyTurn to help with scheduling vaccination appointments. After April 8, individuals seeking their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will need to register with MyTurn to be notified of upcoming clinics and schedule appointments. This can be done online at or by calling 833-422-4255.

For those with a history of allergic reactions

If you have been referred by the Tuolumne County Public Health Department to receive your vaccination at Adventist Health Sonora, we are hosting special clinics at the hospital to provide extended medical observation in the rare event of a severe adverse reaction to the vaccine. Someone from the Health Department will call to help schedule your first and second dose appointments at the hospital.

For those scheduled to receive their second shot:

If you have already received your first vaccination at one of the Adventist Health Sonora clinics at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, we will see you at the same time as your first appointment, according to the table below.

Guidance for the Moderna vaccine recommends receiving the second dose 28 days or later after the first. Guidance for the Pfizer vaccine recommends receiving the second dose 21 days or later after the first. The vaccine is not as effective if the second dose is administered too soon, but the second dose can be administered up to six weeks after the first shot.
