A planned gift allows you to combine your philanthropic goals with your financial needs. Planned giving is a means of integrating your charitable giving with your overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives. Planned gifts usually come from a donor's assets rather than income. It is advisable to work with your estate advisors when making a planned gift.
Bequests
A bequest is a lifetime gift made through a will or beneficiary designation
on a life insurance policy, investment or retirement account policy. When
establishing your will, please consider bequesting to Adventist Health
Sonora to help us to continue the very best health care services for the
residents of our community. It will be a wonderful way to express your
values while having a significant effect on the lives of others and making
such a gift may save on estate taxes.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a contract (not a trust) under which SRMC,
in return for a transfer of cash, marketable securities, or other assets,
agrees to pay a fixed amount of money to one or two individuals for their
lifetime. Payout rates are determined by the age of the donor(s) with
rates increasing with age. It is a wonderful way for you to make a significant
contribution and receive tremendous tax savings while maintaining lifetime income.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A charitable remainder trust is a method of making a significant gift while
allowing the donor the flexibility to design the trust that meets their
own particular needs. Charitable Trusts pay income to an individual or
individuals for a term of years or their lifetime at a payout rate they
select with the counsel of their advisors. At the end of the term the
remaining assets in the trust are directed to charity. This can provide
significant income and capital gain tax avoidance and is another great
way to leave a lifetime legacy gift.
Life Income Gifts
Life income gifts enable you to make a gift while still receiving income for you, your spouse or another loved one for life. Life income gifts are an excellent method for maintaining your financial security while at the same time supporting your philanthropic goals. Learn more.
