The Hiring Process

Providing excellent care begins with selecting excellent employees to join our team. This guide will help you understand the hiring process and what to expect.

The Application Process
All current job openings are posted and updated daily on our website under the "Find a Job" tab. An online application will need to be completed in order to be considered for a position. The application process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your work history. Once your application has been submitted successfully you will receive an e-mail from the recruiter indicating your application was received.

All applications are reviewed by the recruiter to ensure minimum requirements have been met as well as fit for the organization. Upon review, you will either be contacted directly by the manager or by the recruiter to schedule a face to face interview. This process can take up to two weeks depending upon the number of applicants received. If you have not received an e-mail or a phone call informing you about your status you are still considered an active applicant. Most positions do not have a set closing date and will be filled when the right candidate is selected.

The Interview Process
Select candidates will be invited to participate in an interview with the hiring manager of the department they have applied for. The interview is not designed to make you uncomfortable or to "interrogate you." We want to see if you will be a good fit for Adventist Health Sonora and at the same time you get to see if we will be a good fit for you. Generally, the interview will take between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on the position. At the end of the interview the hiring manager will give you a timeline of when to expect a response regarding their selection.

If You are Not Selected
Once the hiring manager has completed the interview process they will make final selections. If you are not given an offer of employment you will be notified by phone or e-mail. Positions will generally be taken off of our website while the manager is screening applications, this does not mean the position has been filled.

After Accepting an Offer
Candidates who accept a contingent offer from the hiring manager will be contacted by Human Resources to begin the hiring process. The following 5-step process must be completed before starting work.

  • A background check will be completed by Human Resources
  • A portion of the required paperwork will be e-mailed to you for completion
  • You will be given an appointment in Human Resources to complete the remaining paperwork
  • You will be scheduled for a pre-employment physical
  • You will be scheduled for a New Hire Orientation
