MAKOplasty® total hip replacement

Adventist Health Simi Valley is among the first hospitals in the region to adopt the MAKO surgical robotic arm to perform MAKOplasty® hip resurfacing, a technique that uses three-dimensional imaging preoperative planning, combined with the Rio robotic arm for hip joint replacement. The computer software program is designed to help the surgeon with precise removal of the least amount of bone necessary to perform the procedure, and because it uses sensors placed on the hip bones during surgery, the system is able to help the surgeon with exact placement of each component, while minimizing any damage to healthy tissue surrounding it. This means patients experience a smaller incision and a faster, less painful recovery than traditional total joint replacement surgery.

Exceptional patient outcomes

Our achievements in advancing technology, utilizing new techniques and providing an exceptional patient experience have resulted in countless of satisfied patients who experience less pain, a shorter hospital stay and a quicker recovery.
