Vice President, Support Services

Bill WernerAs general vice president of support services, Bill Werner oversees eight departments: Diagnostic Imaging, Clinical Laboratory, Volunteers, Plant Operations, Materials Management, Housekeeping, Dietary and Construction.

Werner joined Adventist Health Simi Valley in 2006 as a chaplain. In 2008, he took on the role of director of materials management and later added plant operations to his area of responsibility.

Prior to joining the hospital staff, Werner worked as a biomedical journal indexer in the medical library of Adventist Health Simi Valley's sister hospital Glendale Adventist Medical Center. He moved to California in 1998 to serve as pastor of the Lancaster Seventh-day Adventist Church in Antelope Valley, California.

A native of Chicago, Werner holds a bachelors degree in pre-med from Northeastern Illinois University and a master of divinity from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He also has a master of health care administration degree from California State University, Northridge.

Werner lives in Simi Valley with his wife, Sandy, who is the hospital's former director of human resources, and their five children. Werner enjoys the companionship of sharing lunch breaks with his wife, running half marathons, golfing and reading.
