Your diet plays a major role in your overall health and wellness. Making changes to your diet is often all it takes to find some relief from chronic disease symptoms and other feelings of discomfort. A healthy diet can also keep your weight in control, which is always a positive when you consider the serious health risks associated with obesity. However, creating a healthy diet can be a difficult task without help, that’s why our team is here to help.

Creating a diet that fits your needs

You will find a lot of conflicting information regarding what makes a healthy diet online. The reason people have so much trouble obtaining the results they want when following a fad diet is that none of these diets are built with you in mind. Every person is different and so are your dietary needs. You need to create a diet that addresses your more prominent health risks, considers your medical history, and works towards your goals for health and wellness.

When creating your personal diet, you and a Registered Dietician should consider:

  • Your current diet
  • Your medical history
  • Your goals for your diet
  • Your family’s medical history
  • Your risk factors for illnesses
  • Why you decided to create a new diet in the first place

What is a Registered Dietician?

A Registered Dietician is someone who has been trained in healthy nutrition according to the standards of the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) and the Academy of Nutrition Dietetics (AND). Only someone who has completed a rigorous training and educational program can call themselves a Registered Dietician. They are trained to create diets that consider a patient’s body chemistry and personal preferences.
