Raising Money

One of the things the Foundation Board and our volunteers do VERY well is raise money for Rideout Health's numerous facilities and programs. Several events have become annual signatures for the Foundation and I'd like to share with you some of our accomplishments this past year.

24th Annual Fairway to Health

The Foundation's popular annual golf classic celebrated its 24th anniversary this year. Since 1999, this event has raised nearly 2 million dollars to support healthcare right here at home.

A special thank you to the 183 sponsors and silent auction donors, 204 golfers, 50+ volunteers and golf committee members for yet another successful event.

And a big thank you to Zach Zall, our hardworking Golf Committee Chairman, who for two years in a rowyelled 'fore,' shot six, and wrote down fiveI kid, I kid!

Zach has been our golf chairman for the past two years – and THANKFULLY, he has agreed to chair the event again this year: OUR 25 th YEARand boyit's going to be a doozey!

This year the tournament and auctions netted $140,000 and completed a $425,000 campaign to purchase our new Breast Imaging Equipment called Tomosynthesis. Tomosynthesis is a three-dimensional method of imaging that surpasses conventional x-ray mammography, which is a two-dimensional imaging modality. This equipment will be installed in the new hospital and ready to go in 2016.

Plans are already underway for a grand 25 th Year Anniversary. The dates are Thursday, May 7–Sponsor Partyand Friday, May 8Golf Tournament. This year we're celebrating golf Great Gatsby style!

Rideout and Fremont Hospital Auxiliaries

The Rideout Foundation acknowledges and thanks the Hospital Auxiliaries at Rideout Memorial Hospital and Fremont Medical Center. In addition to helping patients, visitors and staff … members of the Auxiliary run the Surgery Hostess Desk at Rideout and the Gift Shops at both locations. Both auxiliaries are dedicated to rendering service to the Foundation, the hospitals, our patients and families, and help with pretty much whatever we ask of them, from mailings to assembling comfort kits.

Over the course of the last half-century, members of the two Auxiliaries have provided more than 1.3 million volunteer hours. Yes, you heard that right – 1.3 MILLION!

And they make substantial financial contributions as well. This year, the Rideout Auxiliary provided support of the Patient Comfort Kit program for patients at our hospitals and the Vial of Life Program, a valuable resource for the community to use to help first responders. They render service to Rideout Memorial Hospital by managing the gift shop, the surgery hostess program and floral design.

The Fremont Auxiliary renders service to patients and families at Fremont Medical Center. They manage the Christmas Socks program for December babies, offer homemade beanies and blankets for families in need, manage the gift shop and a floral design team.

Fremont Auxiliary gifted $20,000 to the maternity department to purchase new fetal monitor carts.

Special thanks go to Patti Reardon for presiding over the Rideout Auxiliary, and Marnee Crowhurst who serves as the executive liaison for the Fremont Auxiliary. Thank you both for your leadership, time and service.
