Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians

Meeting the needs of our senior community members is a top priority. That’s why we’re proud to have received Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians. As an accredited geriatric emergency department, seniors who visit our emergency room know our hospital has the necessary expertise, equipment and staff in place to provide excellent care. Rest a little easier knowing that quality care is just around the corner, close to where you live and ready when needed.

NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Silver Performance Achievement Award

Adventist Health Portland has demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain - MI Registry for four consecutive quarters during 2022 and performed with distinction in specific performance measures to receive this 2023 award.

Joint Commission Top Performer

The Joint Commission is a national hospital accreditation program that measures quality in a number of key areas. It takes scores at or about 95% on all — not just some — key measures to become a Top Performer.

Leapfrog A Grade

The Leapfrog Group ’s mission is to drive giant leaps forward in health care quality and safety. Adventist Health consistently maintains Leapfrog’s highest rating — receiving the A Grade 19 times. This means we excel at protecting patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections. The Leapfrog Group based our grade on 28 measures of publicly available data.

U.S. News and World Report High Performing Clinical Areas

Adventist Health Portland has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its 2023–2024 Best Hospitals as a High Performing hospital for back surgery, COPD, pneumonia, kidney failure, heart failure and heart attack — the highest distinction from U.S. News and World Report. These areas include two cardiac programs by Northwest Regional Heart & Vascular. U.S. News evaluated more than 6,000 hospitals and ranked programs based on many data points, including patient outcomes, length of stay, volume and more.

Medical Partner of the Year

Fora Health Treatment and Recovery named Adventist Health Portland its Medical Partner of the Year in 2022 in recognition of our partnering with their medical team to ensure emergency patients in withdrawal get the best possible care.

A Top Hospital for Social Responsibility

The Lown Institute, a health care think tank, has given Adventist Health Portland an "A" rating for social responsibility, along with other metrics like value of care, clinical outcomes and inclusivity. In addition, Adventist Health Portland was ranked No. 3 in Oregon for race, income and education inclusivity.

Tier-3 Primary Care Homes

Our interest in whole-person care spreads from our hospital and into the community through our medical clinics. That kind of care led Patient-Centered Primary Care Home program to designate our primary care clinics as Tier-3 medical homes — the highest rating possible.

NCQA Diabetes Recognition

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has recognized Adventist Health Portland providers for excellent diabetes care. NCQA's Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.
