Critical Care Nursing Careers at Adventist Health

With your specialized skills, knowledge and experience, you are a valuable and vital asset to your critical care patients. At Adventist Health Portland, you’ll combine your expertise with mission-focused colleagues to deliver whole-person care to your patients’ minds, bodies and spirits.

As a member of our team, you’ll be able to provide the highest quality patient care knowing you have the support and care of your co-workers. Together you’ll bring the Adventist Health mission to your patients as you demonstrate the human expression of the healing ministry of Jesus.

Mission-focused excellence

That strong sense of mission is what sets our critical care services apart from other hospitals. We maintain a steadfast commitment as we care for our hospital’s most critical patients.

Our ICU and CVICU have 12 beds in each, so you’ll be able to focus on your patient without getting lost in a huge unit. The cardiovascular unit also features a universal bed model. In this environment, you’ll follow your patients from admission or surgery day through discharge. This model promotes patient education, improves patient satisfaction and shortens hospital stays.

We truly seek to serve our patients. Our doctors and nurses work collaboratively to make sure that every patient has the best outcome possible. That is our mission, and that is who we are.

Supporting our nurses

Our mission also means you work in an environment where being treated with respect is the norm. We trust and depend on the experience and knowledge you bring to your work each day. Our RNs are valued members of a team knit together by a very real desire to provide the best care possible to each of our patients.

This is a place where you enjoy coming to work because you are part of an organization that cares about you. Our hospital even sponsors a wellness program to help all our employees have the fullest life possible.

If you enjoy some variety in your nursing practice, you might also consider joining our Nursing Resource Team. This talented group of nurses assists throughout our hospital with teams in critical care and in med/surg. They bring their special talents to new challenges every day in a supportive and appreciative environment.

A place to thrive

We are committed to providing opportunities and resources for professional development. As a valued member of our team, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary and full benefits package. We also offer an RN residency program for new graduates.
