Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) enforces the controlled substance laws and regulations of the United States and brings to the criminal and civil justice systems the organizations and principal members of organizations, involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States. The DEA recommends and supports non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of illicit controlled substances on the domestic and international markets.

The Immunization Action Coalition (IAC) works to increase immunization rates and prevent disease by creating and distributing educational materials for health professionals and the public that enhance the delivery of safe and effective immunization services. The Coalition also facilitates communication about the safety, efficacy, and use of vaccines within the broad immunization community of patients, parents, health care organizations, and government health agencies.

DCBS is Oregon's largest regulatory agency. The department administers state laws and rules and protects consumers and workers in the areas of workers' compensation, occupational safety and health, financial services, insurance, and building codes.

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA) is part of the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services. Oregon OSHA is headquartered in Salem, and has field offices in Portland, Salem, Eugene, Medford, Pendleton and Bend.

The state of Oregon exercises safety and health jurisdiction over most private sector employers in the state, and over public sector employers other than the federal government.
