Mission Week­

Adventist Health is hosting its annual Mission Week from October 28 to November 1. Tune in to the livestream each morning from 8-9 a.m. Pacific time. Each day will feature a community service project, music and a dynamic speaker. Roseville associates may bring donated items for all community service projects on any day during the week. See the schedule below for more information about the items being collected.

2019 Mission Week: Voices of Love

Monday: Be Welcoming

 Pastor Karl Haffner

Speaker: Karl Haffner, Vice President for Student Experience at Loma Linda University and Loma Linda University Health

Music: Destiny Church Worship

Community Service: Adventist Health Portland’s Socks for the Homeless program provides much-needed warmth during the cold, wet months in Portland. Your donation of packaged athletic or winter socks is much appreciated (no dress socks, please).

Tuesday: Be Curious

Pastor Jonathan Henderson

Speaker: Jonathan Henderson, Pastor at Vallejo Central Seventh-day Adventist Church

Music: Tad Worku

Community Service: Adventist Health Rideout’s Street Nursing Program visits the Yuba River every week to provide much-needed care and assistance to the generational communities living along the riverbanks. We are accepting donations of winter survival kits which should include one of each of the following in a zipped plastic bag: rain poncho, socks, gloves, and a beanie.

Wednesday: Be a Mission Owner

Sarah Thebarge

Speaker: Sarah Thebarge, Author of The Invisible Girls and WELL

Music: Tad Worku

Community Service: Adventist Health Central Valley Network’s School-based Health Care is a partnership with the local school district (KCUSD) to open an on-campus health center, providing care and health education for students and families. We are accepting donations of school hygiene kits, which should contain one of each of the following travel-sized toiletries in a zipped plastic bag: toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick, tissues, and hand sanitizer.

Thursday: Be Brilliant

Pastor Sam Leonor

Speaker: Sam Leonor, Regional Mission Executive for Southern California and Central California

Music: Destiny Church Worship

Community Service: Adventist Health White Memorial’s Showers of Hope program provides showers to the homeless population. On any given week, 18 Showers of Hope sites are operating in the greater LA area. We are accepting donations of shower kits, which should contain one of each of the following travel-sized toiletries in a zipped plastic bag: shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant.

Friday: Be a Force for Good

Pastor Tim Gillespie

Speaker: Pastor Tim Gillespie, D.Min., Crosswalk Church

Music: Jesus Culture

Community Service: Make-a-Wish Foundation (no donations needed)
