Adventist Health hosted its annual Mission Week in October of 2019. Each day featured a community service project, music and a dynamic speaker.

2019 Mission Week: Voices of Love

Monday: Be Welcoming

 Pastor Karl Haffner

Speaker: Karl Haffner, Vice President for Student Experience at Loma Linda University and Loma Linda University Health

Music: Destiny Church Worship

Community Service: Adventist Health Portland’s Socks for the Homeless program provides much-needed warmth during the cold, wet months in Portland.

Tuesday: Be Curious

Pastor Jonathan Henderson

Speaker: Jonathan Henderson, Pastor at Vallejo Central Seventh-day Adventist Church

Music: Tad Worku

Community Service: Adventist Health Rideout’s Street Nursing Program visits the Yuba River every week to provide much-needed care and assistance to the generational communities living along the riverbanks.

Wednesday: Be a Mission Owner

Sarah Thebarge

Speaker: Sarah Thebarge, Author of The Invisible Girls and WELL

Music: Tad Worku

Community Service: Adventist Health Central Valley Network’s School-based Health Care is a partnership with the local school district (KCUSD) to open an on-campus health center, providing care and health education for students and families.

Thursday: Be Brilliant

Pastor Sam Leonor

Speaker: Sam Leonor, Regional Mission Executive for Southern California and Central California

Music: Destiny Church Worship

Community Service: Adventist Health White Memorial’s Showers of Hope program provides showers to the homeless population. On any given week, 18 Showers of Hope sites are operating in the greater LA area.

Friday: Be a Force for Good
