PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

Performs triage for patients who present in person, via phone and/or via secure electronic messaging.
Communicates with patient regarding test results, medications, treatment plans, patient education and other related issues; ensures that patient understands all instructions
Verifies accuracy of medications, CLIA-waived labs, phlebotomy and procedures provided to patients by Medical Assistants
Provides Nurse Case Management support to Clinical Supervisor as needed.
Performs various treatment procedures within California RN Scope of Practice
Assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, and performing procedures
Ensures proper documentation in patient EMR
Assists in maintaining a sufficient and non-expired stock of supplies and medications, and proper disposing of outdated supplies and medications
Obtains prior authorizations, assists with prescription requests, and performs other duties related to patient care and clinic operations
Maintains awareness of clinic flow; provides quality improvement input to Practice Administrator, Medical Director, Clinical Supervisor and Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Coordinator
Maintains log books, record keeping and policy updates for various programs, including CLIA, sample medications, immunizations, pediatrics, Vaccines for Children, CHDP, and Every Woman Counts
Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current California RN license; BSN preferred
Current CPR certification
Recent experience performing RN duties in a clinic setting or doctor’s office preferred
Working knowledge of quality improvement processes preferred
Demonstrated ability to exhibit high degree of professionalism and competency in their field
Capable of performing position related physical requirements
