Rate: $18.174 - $23.846


  • Accurately identifies patients and specimens for testing
  • Assists licensed personnel and physicians as directed
  • Collects arterial, capillary, and venous blood specimens
  • Performs collections for employer urine drug screening
  • Enters data in the Laboratory Information System
  • Maintains files for both the clinical and pathology sections
  • Maintains supply of clean glassware
  • Meets, greets, and instructs patients as needed
  • Processes specimens as permitted by Federal and State laws and regulations
  • Provides results, reports, and testing information to laboratory clients
  • Assists Pathologist with autopsies and bone marrow specimens
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Current certification for venipuncture, skin puncture, and arterial puncture that meets regulatory requirements for the State of California
  • Current BLS certification
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical computations
  • Working knowledge of the use and applications of computers
  • Capable of performing position related physical requirements
