Rate: $18.174 - $23.846
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Accurately identifies patients and specimens for testing
- Assists licensed personnel and physicians as directed
- Collects arterial, capillary, and venous blood specimens
- Performs collections for employer urine drug screening
- Enters data in the Laboratory Information System
- Maintains files for both the clinical and pathology sections
- Maintains supply of clean glassware
- Meets, greets, and instructs patients as needed
- Processes specimens as permitted by Federal and State laws and regulations
- Provides results, reports, and testing information to laboratory clients
- Assists Pathologist with autopsies and bone marrow specimens
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current certification for venipuncture, skin puncture, and arterial puncture that meets regulatory requirements for the State of California
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow instructions
- Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical computations
- Working knowledge of the use and applications of computers
- Capable of performing position related physical requirements
