Nurse Manager (Home Health) Full Time, Days

FLSA Status: Exempt

Rate: $114,358 to $171,538

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Participates in development of the clinical areas strategic and operational plans
  • Actively supports and promotes a professional practice model that encourages staff and patient participation in constant improvement of patient care
  • Openly supports and promotes the mission of MCDH
  • Serves as the collective voice for staff to communicate with administration in the chain of command
  • Serves as the staff and patient advocate to ensure optimal patient care
  • Interfaces with patients and families to ensure that care is consistent with their expectations across organizational lines. Leads professional and paraprofessional staff in provision of patient care
  • Makes recommendations for and may participate in personnel actions such as selection, discipline, and performance
  • Conducts or assists in performance evaluations and monitoring competencies
  • Identifies staff development needs and coordinates education with Nurse Manager, Day Operations and Staff Development
  • Instructs staff regarding policies and procedures and keeps unit current in regulatory requirements and continual readiness for surveys
  • Provides staff training and assistance
  • Participates in Performance Improvement Program and is responsible for compilation of data and improvement plans
  • Participates in inter-disciplinary meetings and committees to promote and ensure adjustment and continuity of patient care
  • Responds to all emergencies
  • Assists in resolving charge discrepancies as directed
  • May make recommendations on policies and standards
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current California licensure as Registered Nurse; BSN or Master’s Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism, open support of the hospital administration and competency in their field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Management skills sufficient to effectively direct supervisory and frontline nursing and supportive staff
  • Demonstrated record of leadership ability and professional accomplishment
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and personal computer skills
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Capable of performing position related physical requirements
