NURSE PRACTITIONER / PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Rate: $56.470-$72.287
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Performs thorough patient history and physical assessments, including psycho-social, on all sex/age classifications as appropriate to training
- Diagnoses disease states, determines treatment plans and orders, and/or administers appropriate treatments
- Conducts required minimum of patient visits per day as communicated by the Practice Administrator
- Documents assessments and treatment plans clearly and precisely in patient electronic health record
- Completes all documentation in the patient electronic health record, to include finalizing the coding, within 72 hours of the patient encounter
- Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory and diagnostic imaging procedures as required
- Makes provisions and arrangement for necessary patient teaching, whether completed by self or delegated
- Consults with Physician as appropriate, and coordinates with Supervising Physician regarding chart audits as required by law
- Efficiently utilizes and directs Medical Assistants and Nursing Staff in providing direct patient care and services within their scope of practice
- Follows established Advance Practitioner standardized procedures and protocols and makes recommendations for policy and protocol updates as necessary
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Program
- Reviews, provides input and approves clinic policies
- Participates in inter-disciplinary meetings and committees to promote and ensure adjustment and continuity of patient care
- Keeps unit current in regulatory requirements and continual readiness for surveys, maintaining established clinic procedures, objectives, policies and safety policies
- Performs other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current California Registered Nurse licensure (if Nurse Practitioner)
- Current certification by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner; or current California Physician Assistant Board licensure
- Certification as a Family, Adult or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Current Furnishing Number and DEA Number
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum three years experience providing direct patient care in a clinic setting
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit a high degree of professionalism, open support of the hospital administration and competency in his/her field
- Capable of performing position related physical requirements
