EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN I
AMBULANCE SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Rate: $18.466- $24.230
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
- Operates emergency transport vehicles
- Conducts mechanical, medical equipment and supply inspections of transport vehicles
- Maintains cleanliness of ambulance
- Assists Paramedic in utilization of ambulance equipment
- Performs pre-hospital care in accordance with established CVEMS protocols
- Documents patient care activities
- Assists with care of emergency department patients under supervision and direction of physician and registered nurse
- Maintains emergency department and ambulance supplies
- Adheres to Hospital’s driving qualifications for employees utilizing hospital vehicles
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Emergency Medical Technician I certification
- Six months EMT-I experience preferred
- Current State of California Ambulance Driver Certification, Medical Examination Certificate, and CPR certification required
- Clear driving record past three years
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Ability to lift gurney with minimum weight of 200 pounds (with partner)
- Ability to communicate in Spanish highly desirable
- Capable of performing position related physical requirements
