LEAD CHARGE NURSE

INFUSION / HEMATOLOGY / ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Rate $45.827- $63.172

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provides unit-based leadership in collaboration with COO, CNO, Practice Administrator, Providers and all staff
  • Supervises and directs activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, using professionalism, supervisory discretion and independent judgment
  • Maintains highest standards of care and patient safety and actively addresses opportunities for improvement
  • Provides unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services
  • Supervises and directs unit personnel in activities and patient care. Participates in patient care as needed
  • Initiates and coordinates individual and team conferences with health team members, patients and/or families to initiate and revise care plans for optimal, individualized patient care
  • Assists with preparation for inspections or on-site surveys by government or accrediting organizations
  • Consults with and collaborates with the Patient Care Executive, Medical Director and Practice Administrator on activities related to the operations of the department
  • Plans unit scheduling, workflow, assignments, schedule variations, reviews work for accuracy
  • Assigns staff to patients based on supervisory analysis
  • Plays significant role in staff performance evaluations and competencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current California RN license
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Current Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
  • Minimum one year acute care experience or two years of outpatient care experience
  • Comparable Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required
  • Experienced and active in the care and management of outpatient infusion, hematology, and/or oncology patients
  • Capable of performing position related physical requirements
