General Physical and Occupational Therapy

Physical and occupational therapists at GAMC work closely with physicians to develop personalized treatments that help patients regain movement and independence after injury, surgery or illness. Therapy sessions are available on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Exercises may include stretching, a workout on advanced rehabilitation equipment, a visit to the therapeutic pool and/or a wide variety of other activities.

Following discharge from the hospital, most patients receive a home visit and subsequent follow-up by a therapist and social worker, who evaluate the home environment and social support network and make suggestions regarding modifications that can make the home safer and more convenient as recovery continues.

For those individuals who cannot tolerate the physical demands of traditional physical therapy, aquatic physical therapy provides a great alternative. In the comfort of our 60' x 40' pool, patients are led through an individualized exercise program by specially trained clinicians.

Our physical and occupational therapists want to help you enjoy the best quality of life possible. To learn more, call (818) 409-8071.
