The Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILSTM)
At Glendale Adventist Medical Center, one of our goals is to get you back on your feet as quickly as possible after surgery. That's why we offer state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery options, such as SILSTM, that may shorten your recovery time and get you back to doing the things you love.
How SILSTM Works
Instead of the multiple incisions associated with traditional
laparoscopic surgery, the SILSTM technique is
accomplished through the belly button using only one incision.
Not only does this technique potentially reduce scar visibility,
it may also eliminate the pain associated with multiple
points of entry required by standard laparoscopic surgery.
Additionally, recovery time may be shortened compared to traditional open surgery.
GAMC Offers SILS™ for:
- Adrenal gland surgery
- Bilateral tubal ligation
- Bile duct surgery
- Gall bladder surgery
- Hernia repair
- Kidney surgery
- Liver surgery
- Spleen surgery
- And more
