Advanced Surgical Program

You deserve exceptional care. That's why the doctors at Glendale Adventist Medical Center's (GAMC) Advanced Surgical Program are redefining the art of medicine. The Advanced Surgical Program offers minimally invasive and no scar surgery options, for faster recovery and better outcomes.

The program includes:

  • Advanced robotics - The da Vinci® Surgical System is a robotic platform that enables surgeons to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision.
  • SILSTM (single incision laparoscopic surgery) - SILSTM is used for many common procedures, such as hysterectomy or hernia repair, leaving little to no scarring because the incision is concealed in the belly button.
  • MAKOplasty® - Powered by the RIO® Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, MAKOplasty® allows for pinpoint precision in performing partial knee resurfacing or total hip arthroplasty for people with knee or hip osteoarthritis.
  • Cyberknife® - The CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for the treatment of both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors anywhere in the body, including the head, spine, lung, prostate, liver and pancreas.

At GAMC, these surgical techniques are the preferred surgical methods for the treatment of many conditions. Unlike open surgery, which requires a long incision, advanced robotics and no scar surgery is performed through one or more very tiny incisions. These smaller incisions allow patients to experience less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery and often, a better overall outcome.

GAMC provides advanced surgical options for many procedures, including:

  • Adrenal gland surgery
  • Appendectomy
  • Bilateral tubal ligation
  • Bile duct surgery
  • Colectomy
  • Cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal)
  • Hernia repair
  • Heartburn/GERD treatment
  • Hysterectomy
  • Kidney surgery
  • Liver surgery
  • Prostatectomy
  • Tumor removals
  • and many more...
