Health Scholar Programvolunteers with patient

The Health Scholar Program at Adventist Health Glendale gives pre-health professionals unprecedented access to direct patient care and business administrative positions. Program participants become valuable members of the care team alongside nurses, physicians and allied health professionals in clinical and business settings.

Program participants receive training to assist in basic patient care tasks as they rotate among the different units within the hospital. Participants may have the opportunity to serve in areas such as the emergency department, witness babies being born in labor and delivery, learn about health administration and participate in facilitating medical center classes such as childbirth education, in addition to much more.

The Health Scholar Program offers:

  • Experiential education through a structured course with UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health.
  • Mentoring with health care professionals.
  • Seminars with guest speakers and health care panels.
  • Test-prep service discounts.
  • Networking events.
  • And much more...

To be successful in the program, you must be a self-starter and a motivated individual. For more information, visit http://copehealthscholars.org/.
