Alice IssaiAlice Issai
President, Adventist Health Glendale

Alice Issai, MBA, joined Adventist Health Glendale as the new president in July 2018. Alice came to us from Keck Medicine of USC where she served as chief operating officer for Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. During her tenure, Alice was responsible for developing high-performing teams, driving a culture of accountability, expanding access to excellent and affordable care in Los Angeles, and building trust, partnership and collaboration with physicians and leaders. Prior to Keck Medicine, Alice held several chief executive-level positions in finance, business strategy and operations at world-class institutions like UC Irvine Health, Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles and West Los Angeles, and City of Hope National Medical Center.

Alice received her undergraduate degree in business administration and finance at Andrews University in Michigan, and completed her MBA at Pepperdine University. Alice and her family have lived in the Glendale community for nearly 40 years


elizabeth cochranElizabeth L. Cochran
Operations Executive

Elizabeth “Liz” L. Cochran, RT, MHA, FACHE, comes to Adventist Health Glendale with over 30 years of clinical and hospital operations experience in Southern California, having recently served as chief operating officer at Providence’s Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank where she was responsible for the daily operations of the 400-bed non-profit medical center, a 26-bed free standing skilled nursing facility and the Disney Family Cancer Center. During her tenure at St. Joe’s, Liz demonstrated expertise in efficient and effective operations, financial management and business and strategy development.

Liz started her healthcare career as a respiratory care practitioner at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles. After providing direct patient care for 13 years, Liz was ready to take the leap into leadership. At Kaiser Los Angeles, she rose to clinical and support services administrator before leaving the system to take on a senior vice president role overseeing vast area of operations at Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s Hospital. From there Liz went on to serve as associate vice president of planning, construction and facilities at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles from 2008-2015, where she led the build-out and move into the new 460,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility.

Liz is an innovative thinker with a strong track record in hospital operations, financial performance and capital planning and construction.


Eric KruegerEric Krueger
Finance Officer

Eric has spent more than 25 years as CFO for health care systems, independent hospitals and academic medical centers in the Chicago and Portland markets. With his wealth of experience in health care finance, Eric believes in staying on the cutting edge of technology and being efficient to continue to invest and grow.


Irene Bourdon Irene Bourdon
President, Adventist Health Glendale Foundation

As president of the Adventist Health Glendale Foundation, Irene oversees fundraising and philanthropy at Adventist Health Glendale. She held several executive positions with Citrus Valley Health Partners, a health system in the East San Gabriel Valley and Riverside Community Hospital, a 445-bed acute care hospital in the Inland Empire. In addition to philanthropy, Irene has extensive experience in strategic planning, marketing and public relations, specifically in health care.

Irene has been involved in many community organizations, including serving on the Public Affairs Committee of the Hospital Association of Southern California, the Board of Directors for the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce and many service and civic organizations. She holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach and a master’s degree in public health from California State University, Northridge.


Jinhee NguyeJinhee Nguyen
Patient Care Executive

In her role as patient care executive at Adventist Health Glendale, Jinhee is committed to delivering excellence, quality and compassion in all aspects of patient care. She started as an RN at the LA County/USC trauma center in 1992, received a master's degree in nursing from UC San Francisco and is a clinical nurse specialist in critical care/trauma. Jinhee has also served as associate professor at the UCSF School of Nursing and West Coast University. She strives to achieve the triple "E" in her work at Adventist Health Glendale—employee engagement, physician engagement and patient engagement—and incorporates lean principles whenever possible to remove barriers and streamline processes to enhance clinical outcomes. Jinhee joined the Adventist Health Glendale leadership team in 2005.


Ramella MarkarianRamella Markarian
Business Development Executive

Ramella received her bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in health care administration and has served in various business development roles in health care organizations since 2000. During her time at Adventist Health Glendale, Ramella has been instrumental in helping to grow market share year-over-year and recruited numerous physicians to the area to meet the health care needs of our community. She consistently builds strong and trusting relationships with physicians and partners, and contributes to Adventist Health Glendale's business growth.

Ramella is very passionate about our community and loves to give back. She has been serving as a commissioner for City of Glendale's Community Development Block Grant Commission since 2008 and has served and held leadership roles in many community non-profit organizations. Additionally, Ramella has received many awards and recognitions, including Senator Carol Liu's 2012 businesswoman of the year award.
