AHCS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - New Certification (2-day class)

Class is a 2-day course. Must attend both days to receive certificate of completion

  • December 5 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The AHA’s ACLS Provider Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, as well as the 2019 Update to the 2018 ASA Ischemic Stroke Guidelines. ACLS teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, continuous high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). The goal of the ACLS Provider Course is to improve outcomes for adult patients of cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary emergencies through early recognition and interventions by high-performance teams.

Prerequisites requirements:

You should prepare for class by doing the following:

  1. Review and understand the information in your ACLS Provider Manual. Pay attention to the cases in Part 5.
  2. Review, understand, and pass the mandatory pre-course self-assessment. Print your certificate and bring it with you to class. The pre-course self-assessment does not require a code anymore; instead you will need to create an account on the AHA website (
  3. Ensure that your BLS skills and knowledge are current for the resuscitation scenarios. At the beginning of the ACLS Course, you will be tested on adult high-quality BLS skills, using a feedback manikin.
