Adventist Health Delano opened its doors on January 17, 1974, as a community hospital. Over five decades, our hospital has grown in both size and technological expertise. Adventist Health Delano is a full-service community and regional teaching hospital. Hospital services including an Intensive Care Unit, a Sub-Acute Care Unit, a Medical Surgical Unit, a Surgical Pavilion and an Obstetrics/Gynecology Unit. Located in the second-largest city in Kern County, the cultural diversity in the rural communities we serve brings vitality and energy to our everyday lives. Our 156-bed medical center serves 10 rural Central California cities and has always been committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.
Adventist Health’s legacy in Delano was established in 1974. Over the past 35 years, Adventist Health Delano has grown in both size and technological expertise. Expansions in key departments have been the norm for the hospital. A 20,000-square-foot wing addition allowed Adventist Health Delano to add 30 additional beds for acute care, including a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit and an enlarged inpatient laboratory and pharmacy department. Recent expansions have included adding a 64-slice CT (Computerized Tomography) and a new MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imagining) in the radiology department.
