“I came in during the spring of 2019 concerned that I was having a heart attack. What I know now to be a panic attack after being discharged with neither of these diagnoses, the CNA and RNs that cared for me really made a huge difference that night. I know how easy it can be to burnout but the things you come up with to personalize each patient's care is what makes you so crucial and important to helping us get through scary times. And I know how scary times are now for everyone, yourselves included. Thank you so much for taking care of me and my family. <3”

My friend Tyler Brewer didn't hesitate to offer his time and the use of his truck. We travelled together one bright morning last week and had a great time listening to music, talking, laughing, sipping great coffee, planning future adventures. Then we loaded up his truck with 12,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and drove home. We were back in Sonora by 8:30 a.m. Hands were being freshly sanitized by 9. I have seen in each one of my coworkers their compassion and dedication to our patients. I want to share how I am especially touchEd with compassion personally. I know we all focus on our patients and I think it is just as important to support one another during these trying times so we can perform at our highest potential. I had to go out on leave due to surgery and Shellie a CNA I work with came to my home the day after with a delivery of chicken noodle soup and my favorite flowers! The kindness she showed was so appreciated and made me think of how I am also valued and loved at my place of work. • To our heroes

“For all of you on the frontlines: Although COVID seems to have taken a backseat to the elections and the fires, many of us know that you are still working hard to heal us and keep us safe. Thank you all for all you do. Thank you for risking your lives to save us and protect us. Ignore all those who, in their ignorance, have listened to bad advice and refuse to cooperate with public health recommendations. Most of us are cooperating and are very grateful to you all. Please stay safe, rest whenever you can and tell us how we can help you.”

  • Thank you EVS @ Adventist Health Clear Lake

“Each day that I walk the hospital, I am so impressed with the apparent care that our EVS (environmental services) team pours into making our facility beautiful. From the gleaming floors, to the spotless public areas, it is a visual thing of beauty. Every EVS worker greats you with a smile as they go about their daily work with pride and investment in AHCL. Thank you for all you do to honor our facility, our patients and our staff.”

  • Above and Beyond

I want to show gratitude and give thanks to a special nurse, Connie Colorado at Dr. Laviolas office in Lodi, CA, who has changed my life by simply being such a kind person who truly cares about her patients. A nurse can make the difference between just “getting better” and truly healing. They are an essential emotional support system. She simply uttered the empowering words, “You're stronger than you think you are." Connie's encouragement gave me the strength I needed to lead me to a better way of life. Connie is a perfect example of Living God's Love!! She is a guardian angel ! The impact she has had on my life since my visit to the doctor office has been life changing!!

  • Gods Grace - All Hospitals; A Message From South Africa

“Simply by working for Adventist Health, you are inspiring me to ensure that I am patient with my calling in the Legal field here in South Africa. My hope is that all of you who have the essence of Christ within you are increased in your blessings at this time. For when you, who serve The Lord Our God are blessed, those who meet you are blessed simply by being in your presence. May you know it in your hearts that you are Loved.”

Especially Sarah Musto who went above and beyond to make us feel good. I don’t know how I would have done without her! She is fantastic! Thank you for the bottom of my heart!”

“I just had a baby during this pandemic, and it was beyond nerve wracking. I wanted to give a big thank you to the doctors and nurses in the family birth place who made our experience so wonderful (considering). They were so kind and caring and made me feel like I wasn’t a bother whenever I asked for something. They made me smile and got to know me and my family (even our daughter who couldn’t be there). Overall, thank you for making it memorable for the right reasons, and not just because of the pandemic we are in.”

  • The ultimate gift from Simi Valley ICU/CCU

“I have a different perspective of medical workers this year. I have always appreciated the work they do, been through lots of scenarios where family have been taken care of by them, and released home to go back to the silliness of life. But this year, I am thankful for them in a different way. This year I appreciate like no other, the grace and kindness with which they helped my father make his transition to heaven. These nurses, who didn't know him at all, spent time with him in his room, held his hand, and prayed with him. They talked to him like he was their family, and worked on his body, trying to help him win the fight when his body was fighting them. They were so extremely patient with his family who could not be with him and they made a lonely situation better for him. So today I thank all the staff of Adventist Health Simi Valley, and all medical staff who have to do the hardest thing there is, which is to help a patient die with grace and dignity and staying by their side so they know they are not alone. That is a kindness we will never be able to re-pay ... but thank you to all of the staff that have to do it each and every day. You are the angels of this world.”

“Jane and I have both had surgery at Adventist Health Portland within the recent past and couldn’t be more positive about the care we received. Even though it was like coming home to people you knew and trusted, it was still surgery. AH-P has a great team and we can attest that you are continuing to meet the mission. Even in this very challenging time you are the ones making a huge difference. Thank you for being there.”

Such a scary situation and with no family able to come, it makes it even harder. Everyone is so amazing and so nice. All my nurse were above and beyond. From walking with me, to sitting with me, and talking during the night. My nurse gave me a hug the first night when I needed some support. Everyone was amazing.”

  • Adventist Health Bakersfield after hours administrators in ER

“Every time I have gone after hours during the week to the ER I have always been greeted and discharged by the same 3-4 girls at night, even though they are obviously doing way more work than the few of them can handle, I have never waited for any one of them, they are always quick to drop what they are doing and help me or acknowledge me. Which is so important in customer service. I have come during different times of the day and I prefer to come later at night. Even the nurses seem happier at this time. Thank you girls and nurse at night! You guys are appreciated more than you know.”
