An evidence-based tobacco cessation program* for pregnant women who recently quit or who desire to stop smoking/vaping, with ongoing support after baby is born to help moms stay tobacco-free.
Half of moms who quit during pregnancy go back to smoking within six months of birth. We can help you avoid these health effects of smoking and secondhand smoke on babies:
- Preterm delivery
- Lower birth weight
- Weaker lungs
- Increased chances of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
- Increase in ear infections and allergies
- Learning disabilities
- Respiratory issues
Women attend four prenatal nicotine cessation sessions to receive education and support. If women remain tobacco free after prenatal session three and four, they will receive diaper vouchers that can be used at Walmart for any brand & size of diapers or baby wipes.
After birth, women continue with monthly sessions for 12 months. If they continue to be smoke free, they can receive a diaper voucher after each completed session.
