COVID-19 testing

The Covid testing drive-through will be closing on Friday, December 9, 2022. For COVID-19 testing after December 9, please use the following options.

COVID-19 Screening: For non-exposure or pre-op testing, go to the outpatient laboratory at Adventist Health Castle or Kaneohe Professional Center (physicians order required).
COVID-19 Symptoms or Exposure: Visit one of our convenient urgent care locations in Kailua, Kapolei, Pearl City and Waikiki, for evaluation and testing.

No physician order or appointment required

Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Closed on most major holidays including New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

    Testing Process and Results

    • Please bring your driver’s license/government ID and insurance card
    • Patients arriving on foot will be seated in a covered area and called forward when it is their turn to be tested.
    • Please keep your window rolled up until otherwise directed by an Adventist Health Castle associate
    • PPE protected staff will provide detailed instructions about the nasopharyngeal swabbing process after having the patient roll their window down
    • Patients will be given an instruction sheet explaining what to do following their test for COVID-19
    • It’s important for patients to follow isolation instructions until the test results are received if you are coming in for symptoms.

    When can I expect my test results back after the test is taken?
    • If your medical provider faxed your COVID testing order, your medical provider will call you back with your results. If you were screened by our nurse practitioner in the drive through, Adventist Health Castle will call you back within 5 business days with your results.
    • The FASTEST way to get your results is by enrolling in the MyAdventistHealth patient portal after you’ve been tested. However, if the person being tested is under 18 years old, please call our Health Information Management department at 808-263-5153 during normal business hours. For after hours and weekends, you may call our laboratory at 808-263-5148 and choose option 0 for pediatric results only.
    • If you have not received a call back within 24-48 hours, please call our COVID-19 results line at
    (808) 263-5002.

    If I test positive, what should I do?
    • If you test positive, you will be provided additional information and guidance at the time of notification.
    What do I do after I am tested for COVID-19?
    While awaiting results, if you’re testing due to exposure or being symptomatic:
    • Stay home, except to get medical care, calling in advance before arriving.
    • Separate yourself from others in your home.
    • Avoid sharing personal household items.
    • Wear a face mask.
    • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
    • Wash your hands often.
    • Clean all "high-touch" surfaces every day.
    • Monitor your symptoms.

    While awaiting results, if you’re testing due to travel planning:
    • You can go about your normal day to day activities.
    • There is no need to stay home and isolate.
