In this class, learn how to tell if your baby is sick, how to take your baby’s temperature, why babies cry, how to calm a crying baby, and how to bathe your baby.

Giving Birth: The Castle Experience
Four sessions on Wednesdays, starting Wed., June 5, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Adventist Health Castle, Kailua
Cost: $40 per person
Designed and taught by experienced labor and delivery nurses, this class is specifically geared for couples giving birth at Adventist Health Castle. You will learn different aspects of the birth experience, from preparing for the hospital to caring for you and your baby. This class is suggested for couples in their 3rd trimester.

Infant Safety
Tues., June 11, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Adventist Health Castle, Kailua
Cost: $15 per person
Recommended for parents, grandparents and other non-professional childcare providers, this course teaches basic life support techniques for infants and toddlers as well as how to make your home safe for babies and young children.

Coaches Clinic

Learn and practice how to be an invaluable labor coach, including what you as a coach can do now to prepare for labor, ways to help reduce labor discomfort, including labor massage and ‘labor talk’.

Breastfeeding Class

Sibling Class
Tues., June 25, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Adventist Health Castle, Kailua
Cost: $15 per person; $10 for children ages 12 and under
This class is designed for children who will become older siblings, and their parents.
Children will learn how important being a big brother or sister is. They will practice how to hold a new baby, share ideas on what baby can and can’t do, learn safety tips, and make and take home a gift for their new baby!
Parents will learn tips on welcoming the new baby home, fostering positive sibling bonding, and insights on older child’s thoughts and emotions.

Mommy & Me Hui

All new mothers are invited to connect with other new moms at Castle’s Mommy & Me Hui, a free weekly gathering for moms and their infants up to 12 months old. Led by certified lactation educators, the group will cover such topics as breast-feeding issues, nutritional advice, getting enough sleep, choosing child care and tips on getting back into shape. Get and give support, ask questions, and then spend the last part of the meeting doing a fun physical activity with your baby. No registration is necessary; come as you please!
