Freedom From Smoking Class Begins February 5

January 15, 2019 (Sonora, CA) – Are you ready to quit smoking? It helps to know that quitting is possible! There are now more ex-smokers than smokers in the United States – 52 million Americans have quit for good.

Adventist Health Sonora is offering the American Lung Association’s Freedom From Smoking® course beginning February 5, 2019. Classes will meet from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for seven weeks at Pulmonary Rehabilitation, located at 19747 Greenley Road in Sonora.

According to the American Lung Association, studies have shown that individuals who participate in Freedom From Smoking® learn to address the physical, mental and social aspects of their addiction and are six times more likely to be smoke-free one year later than those who quit on their own.

The seven-week course costs $125 and is covered by some insurance plans with a doctor’s order. For those without insurance or whose insurance does not cover the class, scholarships and discounts are available.
