Awards & Recognition

Adventist Health Portland has again received an “A” grade for hospital safety from national patient safety watchdog the Leapfrog Group for the Spring 2018 reporting period. This is Adventist Health Portland’s tenth consecutive “A” grade.

Receiving an “A” grade, ranking Adventist Health Portland Medical Center among the safest hospitals in the United States and demonstrating commitment to reducing errors, infections and accidents that can harm patients.

“This recognition celebrates the mission focused and performance driven care our team members provide every day,” says David Russell, president and CEO of Adventist Health Portland. “We believe our patients deserve the best outcomes, the best service, and freedom from harm of any kind within our control. Our team members and providers exemplify these beliefs, and are the reason we have received this top rating from Leapfrog since 2013.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.
