Young volunteers team up with blood bank to help save lives

CENTRAL VALLEY – Young Discover Healthcare volunteers from Adventist Health are teaming up with the Central California Blood Bank to coordinate three blood drives in Hanford, Reedley and Selma.

The blood drives are from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on July 17, 25 and 27.

Adventist Health Hanford: Tuesday, July 17 in parking lot of Hanford Medical Pavilion, 125 Mall Dr.

Adventist Health Reedley: Wednesday, July 25 in parking lot in front of hospital, 372 W. Cypress Ave.

Adventist Health Selma: Friday, July 27 in parking lot in front of main entrance, 1141 Rose Ave.

The volunteers organizing the event are part of Adventist Health’s Discover Healthcare program, which gives high school and college students hands-on training in the medical field for the summer.

Donors must be in good health, weigh at least 110 lbs., and be at least 16 years old (donors under age 18 must have written parental consent).

Everyone who donates will receive a free T-shirt.
